Between Brussels and Paris on the Belgian border with France is the idyllic village of Dour. Since 1989, musicians and music lovers from all over the world have gathered there once a year to hang out and soak up some sounds.
In just two weeks the Dour Festival will kick off its thirtieth edition, with a promising line-up on 7 different stages, from 11 to 15 July, which could hardly be more colourful. As a fan of electronic music you can look forward to DJs like Paul Kalkbrenner, Diplo, Jon Hopkins and the Chemical Brothers, while hip-hop is represented by Action Bronson, Tyler the Creator and GoldLink, among others, while wonderful acts such as Alt-J, Nils Frahm or Yung Lean have been hired for the quieter notes.

Mura Masa, Soulwax, Son Lux, ODESZA, BadBadNotGood, Noisia and many other highlights are also on hand. And if this all sounds like too much spectacle, you still have the possibility to retreat to the dub stage and find your inner peace with neat reggae sounds, to release the last bit of steam that still flows through your body right after hardcore, punk and metal. So nobody should feel out of place. There are dance floors here for every possible taste.

In addition to the musical programme, the Dour has come up with a few special features to help visitors enjoy a short break from the hustle and bustle in front of the stages. There is an oasis of peace and quiet decorated with plenty of street art, a cocktail bar with an inspiring view over the grounds and a bar where gourmets can taste the most unusual beers around until they feel ready to dance again.
Environmental friendliness is the focus of the event. This year for the first time there is a Green Agora area dedicated to sustainable development, which aims to inform festivalgoers through discussions, documentation and information stands.
All this makes us hope for a fantastic festival week, which we will be keeping you informed about here at indieBerlin. In case you are toying with the idea of convincing yourselves of the Dour Festival, we still have a surprise for you.
